Sometimes in order to check for eadly gases, miners would send down canaries into cages in mine shafts.So that's a hell of a lot of birds.

Very interesting perspective and mood. It would be fun to visit a place like this and take pictures... but you would have to watch and not bump your head if your were super tall. Cool shot
